Hi! 👋 More of a curious question than anything. I've had 2 definite HS surgeries (bikini line and breast) plus I had a pilonidal cyst removed in 2006 (apparently HS can cause those too?). Definitely needed for me.

Maby some men go through it to but because it’s hard to explain to ppl or others a lot of ppl are not educated or know about HS or because how you may feel or look at yourself others may also look at you the same way the scars on your breast groan area your butt

I was diagnosed with a severe case of HS last week. I’m on oral doxycycline, topical clindamycin, and an acne wash. However I’m not and never have been a smoker or overweight. I’ve actually spent most of my adult years underweight from an eating disorder. I’m doing better now with the ED as I’ve just had a baby in September. I’m wondeting if the HS onset could be caused by hormonal birth control. I have the kyleena IUD

Such as areas that aren’t exposed to air as much like thighs!

I work a 8-5. I don't have a wife / SO to help me with complex wound care or recovery. I'm doing this on my own. I just don't know what to expect in terms of how long I'll be out of work for. Maybe I'll schedule short term disability... What happens if I schedule everything with the hospital, and then the day comes and I'm flaring up wildly in the area? Would they just reschedule?
