I’ve seen a lot of posts talking about how they realized certain things were triggers (sugar, dairy, gluten, etc.) for their hs. If this is true for you, how fast after being exposed to your trigger do you develop nodules? Hours? Days? Lmk! Thanks! ☺️
It depends on the type of food. If I eat a white potato/French fry i automatically start to feel the burn/pain in my open wound areas. With dairy, within an hour I feel the pain. If something else… read more
I'm into researching and trying different things to see what works for me. So far, a heart healthy diet helps with HS. I only drink water, nothing else. My flares have been mild and manageable for the… read more
I’m sure this question has been answered. Anyone ever had a total hysterectomy, uterus, ovaries fallopian tubes removed and seen an improvement with HS? I know my triggers are food AND hormonal.
If you think your root cause is hormonal, consider asking your doctor about taking Spironolactone. Has worked wonders for me so far, in addition to diet/supplementation. There are research studies… read more
I was diagnosed with a severe case of HS last week. I’m on oral doxycycline, topical clindamycin, and an acne wash. However I’m not and never have been a smoker or overweight. I’ve actually spent most of my adult years underweight from an eating disorder. I’m doing better now with the ED as I’ve just had a baby in September. I’m wondeting if the HS onset could be caused by hormonal birth control. I have the kyleena IUD
They like to say obesity is a factor, but they can't say why. Which means it's really not.
I agree with Bonbon that dieting isn’t for everyone what I found works best for me is exercising once a day shower right after of course and watching what I eat. I think of dieting a new lifestyle for… read more
Im trying to figure out "what" is causing my mast cells to be triggered & keeping this inflammatory nightmare going. I dont smoke, not obese but i DO have chronic pancreatitis. I read that insulin resistancy can play into HS. Ive also had a problem with candida which keeps mast cells inflaming everything. So im curious 'if' my long time gimpy pancreas has caused a blood sugar problem thats causing candida and HS?
Thanks. I think the blood sugar is causing the candida. Which in turn keeps my mast cells triggered and causing constant inflammation. I want sure if anybody on here has candida issues as well?
My question for you is ? What is the worst part of your HS . I know the answer is all of it but what is the one. The pain, scars, mental stress, or the smell? For me it's all .But the smell is it for me I've had this shit for 30+ years and the every day pain I guess is something I've got used to over the years and the scars really don't bother me but I do feel bad for you ladies and the mental is I will not let HS defeat me I will fight this shit until there is a cure or until they put me in… read more
I've noticed if I keep my hair down there trimmed up the pain and the smell aren't so bad..
I use hibiclens and other natural soaps that are hydrating to combat the dryness from hibiclens.
Does anyone else have any other skin issues. I’ve noticed my skin has always been sensitive even when I get rashes from allergies. I’m allergic to everything🙃
I also received allergy shots. I also wonder if that could’ve affected my system lol
