im considering surgery as my only option to improve since i can barely walk or shower or do much of anything bc of the pain im in. does anyone have experience with hs groin surger?? what was recovery like? any advice??
I had surgery on my groin wasn’t bad, but everyone is different recovery time wasn’t bad it doesn’t solve it all but the pain of surgery is way better. I’m sorry way less than of the disease.
Does anyone else bleed out from their open lesions when they try getting up out of bed? I'm stage 3, chronic severe. I'm on a strict diet. No dairy, no red meats, no bread, no sugar or refined sugar. Im still having inflammation and can't pin point from what it's being caused.
HS is seriously misunderstood by medical professionals and it seems like they don't care or understand how it seriously affects every aspect of our lives. My heart and love goes out to each of my… read more
Please stay encouraged sir. I've had the same surgery on my underarms & it's no joke @ all. Prayers going up
I just had a surgery to open up a section of HS on my scrotum it swelled up to the splice of a baseball overnight
I have had hs for 7 years (diagnosed 6 years ago but refuse to see another doctor or spread my legs to one) because I'm soooo fucking embarrassed I don't even want a doctor to look at me. I know after this many years they will judge me
My whole groin (outer vagina) looks like a rotting steak with maggot holes everywhere. I smell like rotting meat. My response to all of this is doing EVERYTHING and anything that makes it worse because I'm depressed to the point of unaliving myself. I… read more
I have had HS for 50 years. It is a disease. Yes it is embarrassing but you need to get on a good anti-depressant and there are medications that can help. Find a Derm who actually knows what they… read more
I was recently diagnosed last year but realize I have had flare ups for a few years. We just always thought they were ingrown hairs in my groin/pantyline. Currently in the midst of one and I’m miserable. I’m lucky b/c mine aren’t that bad, but I’m terrified of what they could become.

Once you get it, yes. And it only gets worse. Deal with it as soon as possible. Even through embarrassment and horror. There are treatments now that weren't available a couple years ago.
If you are stage3 HS patient then, can you write quick tips for others if anything is working with you? Remicade, Humera, Stellara are all options but have had many side effects but are there an new biologicals working for you as none of the above have helped me. Also share your recovery period experience or if you are willing to connect directly as have few questions about it
CO2 laser surgery has been the most effective for me. Did Humira for a year and did but then was no longer effective for me. Doxycycline is no the strongest if I get an abscess but must take right… read more
It's understandable to feel scared when seeing photos of surgery, especially for conditions like hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). Surgery is often considered when other treatments haven't been effective… read more
I had a previous surgery under my arm. Which happens to be my first ever encounter with hs. But tbh I don't remember what I had done. Well anyway I'm going back in to have it looked at again. What is a surgery u have seen done a second go around. I think I had a deroofing? I'm trying to avoid having one surgery when it should have been something different the second time around if that makes sense. I have heard of instances where docs ( general surgeon) will do the simple less tedious surgery to… read more
