Has Anyone Else Had A Major Flare-up Of HS After Having COVID?
A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭

Unfortunately, I've had COVID twice. Both times, I had a major flare-up as I got over it. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen, or if anyone knows if there is any correlation between the two? (I have one theory, but I'm no expert... however, is it possible that as the virus dies, it uses the skin as one way to exit the body?)

Did Anyone Develop HS After Covid Shot Or Have A Really Bad Flare?
A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭

I started having recurring pimple like boils in groin either right before or right after my 1st covid shot. I can’t remember the exact date because at first they were like pimples that popped didn’t hurt and went away quickly and I didn’t even notice I had one until it popped. But my last pimple like boil on pubic won’t heal completely and I got that one after the vaccines. I had never had a sore in my life that would not heal. I think I may or may not be having mild lymphedema. Well here is a… read more

Have Any Women Fou D Relief From HS After Going Through Menopause?
A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭

I have been doing research on a more permanent solution for my HS and found articles saying that the flare-ups stop after you go through menopause. I am going to ask my doctor about getting a hysterectomy for this reason as I am almost 40 and do not want children. I am wondering if anyone else has had success with this? I tried hormonal birth control and it has been a nightmare. Almost a constant period and repeat flare-ups that I did not have before trying the birth control.

I’m Curious About Diet Causing Flares In Skinny People.
A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭

Someone once posted and asked if there were skinny people with HS because they were skinny and have HS. So if you’re skinny and have HS do you still do the things known to aggravate HS? Or do you not drink alcohol or smoke or eat lots of sugar, processed chemical laden foods or saturated fat foods? Or do you know to be allergic to night shade foods? Or do you eat a perfect diet and still get HS? If you are skinny, what seems to cause your flares?
