I’m Curious About Diet Causing Flares In Skinny People.
A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭

Someone once posted and asked if there were skinny people with HS because they were skinny and have HS. So if you’re skinny and have HS do you still do the things known to aggravate HS? Or do you not drink alcohol or smoke or eat lots of sugar, processed chemical laden foods or saturated fat foods? Or do you know to be allergic to night shade foods? Or do you eat a perfect diet and still get HS? If you are skinny, what seems to cause your flares?

There are a lot of factors whether overweight or ideal weight. Diet hormones and stress are know are major factors that seem to be the theme. For me diet and hormones when my cycle comes on. I’m trying natural remedies for hormones. Going plant base and juicing helped tremendously

Linda, earlier on here you were saying pills you take in the morning was hard to wait 2 hrs to eat. I take a thyroid pill and it's the only pill I can't have food for 1 hr before and 1 hr after I take it.....so I take it when I get up to pee in the night....I'm thinking you likely do too! A couple days ago I woke up at 6am, normal time to wake up, and hadn't taken my pill, so took it and went back to bed....woke up at 7:30. I see you are a fashion statement for your hubby, shaving your pubes....lol....because of my underactive thyroid, I am not very hairy....I have a ton on my head, but seriously have about 3 in my armpits (I could go a year without shaving and no one would know), and because I bandage in my groin where I have my HS, I think I have ripped all the hair out there as well!

I had to stop shaving inner thigh, pubis, arm pits. I just touch up lightly with electric shaver with detachable head that can be sterilized. But my worst boils when skinny were these giant carbuncles just below the knees on legs. Had bad ugly purple scar for 30 years before it finally faded because it necrotized so badly and deeply. I had just had a baby a year prior and lost all my preg weight with fasting and was super skinny. After a year of torture an internist finally figured out I was harboring staph in the vagina and spreading the germs just below the knees when dropping my panties to use the toilet. I had been putting on dirty jeans to work in the garden. So now I never wear clothes of any kind before washing even if going to go wallow in the dirt. I also quit getting boils recently after using 91% alcohol in arm pits before apply spray deodorant and wiping home toilet seat with alcohol. I never sit on anyone else’s toilet anymore.
