What's the most ridiculous thing at doctors ever told you what is it your skin disease outcome on a hospital visit mine was one time with a spider bite
I don't even give stupid doctors a chance to misdiagnose anything. I educate them. Tell them what the name of my skin condition is and say if you don't know don't be afraid to say that you don't… read more
Hi all, I am new here and wanted to get opinions from people taking Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg daily for long term control of your HS. I am concerned about the long term use of it on my gut and all that it does & destroys within the stomach and elsewhere in the body. I was taking it daily for 6 months and it kept my flares to maybe 1 or 2 during that time. I stopped taking it about 4 or 5 months ago and all was good with HS flares. Now in the last 3 weeks or so I have had 2 flares so far.

Bill, I should add that I am in remission now because I am on the keto diet.....it's a tough one at first.....no sugar and no carbs (potatoes, pasta, breads and rices). Let me know if you want more… read more

Some people believe that HS is contagious skin disease or think it's some form of STD , so what information would you like to give to people about HS and about living with HS?
That it is due to uncleanness. I believe that is the reason it has been covered up for so long. People on here have had this thing for 40 years.
How many people have full time jobs ? I work 40 to 50 hours a week.
I read this post and wonder how people have time to do all this stuff and work full-time
lol
Hello! Brand new to this group of support! I have not been diagnosed with HS (yet) but I'm positive this is what I've suffered with for 10-15 years. I've looked for answers online here and there and finally learned about HS recently. All my symptoms seem to match. I felt such relief to know it's a real thing that so many live with! I remember at the beginning going to a doctor about the bumps in my inner thighs and he basically shrugged his shoulders and said it's probably just chaffing from… read more
Hi Lauram......The drag about HS is that most Dr's don't seem very well educated about HS....the same is for dermatologists. There are a few out there, but it's hit and miss whether you find one… read more
Had several problems over years with what I was told was staphylococcus. I assumed that’s what this was. I was wrong and it’s been miserable.
Many guys here.
Such as areas that aren’t exposed to air as much like thighs!
