Thanks. I’m currently in a flare(for past couple of months) and have noticed my HS worse. It seems to be spreading. Recently moved and changed to a new GP practice and went about the lesions after doing a telephone call(as per normal these days!) When dr examined me she said”oh I was expecting it to be much worse!” Gave me topical a’biotic cream and a wash but if anything, things are worse. One big area and other new outbreaks all in groin area. I’m thinking now my best way forward is to ask for referral to dermatology.

Hi there, I have fibromyalgia and have definitely noticed that when the fibro flares so does the HS. Been in a fibro flare for about 15 months now and I'm getting at least one huge abcess from the HS around every 3 to 4 weeks. Previous to the fibro flare I was probably getting maybe 2 or 3 smaller abscesses a year. I currently have 2 large ones causing me agony in the groin area. Only had my diagnosis a few weeks ago and doctors not providing any treatment other than antibiotics. Waiting for a callback to suggest to the doctor what he can prescribe me after some great advice on this forum!

Thanks for replying. It’s hard to know what triggers what! I’ve only been aware that what I have is HS though I’ve suffered for quite a few years. But I’m in a fibro flare at the minute which is what prompted my question x
