I know this is probably a weird question... HS has always affected my relationships it’s always a personal problem. I have told two people about some of my issues that are rather unsightly in my underarm. One was totally okay, but the other not so much. I’m just wondering how do you guys deal in relationships? Does it ever get more comfortable or easier?
Not easier. I'm ashamed for my husband of 10 years to look at me. Especially when his face is close you know. Also, he got this problem where his balls swelled up bad and it was a side effect of a… read more

This app has really inspired me and wanting to do more and getting the word out and more people will not have to deal with this disease alone, and more Dr.s. will need / want to learn more about it so they will be forced to help us with a cure or a way to make us more comfortable and for us to deal with this evil disease. Let's discuss. Blessings

So my daughter is 12. She had two burst abscess; one healing nicely and the other is slower at healing but it's looking as though it's healing. She has a few red/purple ones which do not bother her as such and a large 10p sized one that's tender but the one that burst, there is now a big lump just a few centimetres below it. It's flesh coloured and more raised/prominent. Does this happen when others burst? She's gone three days off school from being in immense pain - taking a week's worth of dox… read more

I had a previous surgery under my arm. Which happens to be my first ever encounter with hs. But tbh I don't remember what I had done. Well anyway I'm going back in to have it looked at again. What is a surgery u have seen done a second go around. I think I had a deroofing? I'm trying to avoid having one surgery when it should have been something different the second time around if that makes sense. I have heard of instances where docs ( general surgeon) will do the simple less tedious surgery to… read more

Hi all, I am really struggling mentally at the moment with my HS which is putting a strain on my relationship as he always thinks it’s him no matter how many times I say it’s not and this will pass, it’s just another side effect of the condition. It has gotten a lot worse lately as I had surgery beginning of sept for incision and drain on right armpit and since then have had two flare ups in both armpits, I am now on second round of co-amoxiclav, with the possibility of another surgery on the… read more
Hello. It has for me also. I'm a big girl almost 6 ft 300 pounds. It makes me very body conscious. In most of my relationships it's been a problem.
