I keep reading that Semaglutide, etc can help with HS. I believe it has made it worse for me. Anyone else?

I hadn’t had flare ups in a few years, but a couple of months into getting the shots I started having horrible flare ups. It has been a year and a half and I’ve lost 60 pounds, 20 away from my goal. Yet, I’m miserable and in constant pain. Can anyone relate and offer advice?

Thanks for sharing your experience....I have tried several different types of biological methods but unfortunately I have allergic reactions to all of these and it made all my co morbid diseases worse 😢 I have been on topical clindymicin, hybiclense wash and Tylenol for years. i am 56 yrs and have delt with Multiple Auto Immune Diseases for years.

Here's what you should consider:

Weight loss doesn't cure HS, and losing weight doesn't guarantee symptom improvement. Some people find their flares become less frequent but more severe, which sounds similar to your situation.

Steps to take:

Talk to your dermatologist immediately about your increased flare-ups. They can assess whether the medication timing is coincidental or potentially contributing to your symptoms, and adjust your HS treatment plan.
