I have managed mostly with diet changes but since I started perimenopause , night sweats and hormone changes have caused this new flare. I have an rx for spironolactone im scared to start because of the horror stories. Im im early stages of disease.
Any feedback?
Thank you! Definitely good suggestions. I will see how i do on spironolactone. Fingers crossed
Funnily enough, I just saw a conversation of women talk about similar concerns with spironolactone. There are also others options if you're worried! Some women discussed success stories with combined birth control, specifically Yaz/Yasmin or Diane-35. According to some women, they've allowed them to be on a lower dose of spironolactone due to their effects. There are also others hormonal treatments such as finasteride and metformin, but of course always talk to your doctor first.
How can you manage an active HS flare during perimenopause, and what should you know about My Magic Healer ointment and spironolactone?
It's completely understandable to feel cautious about new treatments. Let's break down your options.
