Many people with HS experience flares in intimate areas, including the labia. While this can be incredibly uncomfortable and frustrating, there are several ways to find relief:

• Apply warm compresses for 15-minute intervals to help ease pain and inflammation
• Some find cold compresses more soothing - try both to see what works better for you
• Wear loose-fitting, breathable cotton clothing to reduce friction
• Consider over-the-counter pain medication (but check with your doctor first) If home remedies aren't providing enough relief, don't hesitate to speak with your doctor. They may recommend prescription treatments like antibiotics or corticosteroids to help manage inflammation and symptoms. Remember that while intimate flares can be especially challenging, you're not alone in dealing with this - many others experience similar symptoms and challenges.

All I found that helps me is a warm compress and minimal clothes can’t remember last time I wore underwear

My dermatologist has prescribed me Clindamycin for labia flares, it helps

My worst flare was on my inner labia. It was a two-inch tunnel, and I couldn't walk for five days due to pain. I had to go to the doctor for a steroid injection, which was incredibly painful, having a needle stuck directly into the flare. I was lucky enough that after the injection, the tunnel burst within 12 hours. I also have multiple recurring flares on my outer labia. I use Clindamycin twice daily to help ease and reduce flares, but it is no cure. It can be so frustrating, especially when nothing seems to truly help.

Oh, you’re preaching to the choir sister! Went to the dermatologist today to get antibiotics. I’m suffering so bad with a flareup! It hurts to walk. It hurts to sit. When I need one to burst, I get a damp cloth like a washcloth and my heating pad and I put the damp washcloth on my skin and then I press the heating pad against that and it really helps speed up the process of getting them burst. Praying for you and everyone else tonight!
