Dr. Rodriguez is very helpful with HS patients!

@A myHSteam Member. I’d call all the dermatologists in the area and ask them if they specialize in in HS. A regular doctor is useless. The ER is usually good for lancing for individual bumps.

The Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation maintains a list of HS Specialty Clinics across the U.S. This would be a great starting point to find specialized care in the Charlotte area. The Hidradenitis Suppurativa Foundation maintains a list of HS Specialty Clinics across the U.S. This would be a great starting point to find specialized care in the Charlotte area. If you can't find a specialist nearby, consider asking your current doctor for a referral to a board-certified complex medical dermatologist, as they have expertise in treating HS. When searching for a new doctor, it's important to:
- Be upfront about your HS symptoms
- Ask if they have specific experience treating HS
- Request a referral if the doctor isn't experienced with HS
- Consider telehealth options if in-person visits aren't possible
- Check with your insurance company for covered providers in your area
