Just had surgery 3 days ago, go in for my post op appointment tomorrow. Hopefully this will not be a long drawn out process. I have drains coming from each armpit and also wound vacs on each arm. I have to carry all this around so I don’t go too far. Will update as time goes along.

I have not had surgery there, but have read a case of a person whose sweat glands were removed as part of the surgery (apparently) and that caused problems for him later. I don't know if removing the sweat glands is normal or not, but would suggest asking the question, at least.

Thank you @A myHSteam Member hope the process of healing is smooth and fast. Can I ask what the pain is like for you now, I think that’s what I’m most anxious about. As everywhere said after I&D the pain would be so minimal compared to the active hs, but for me it was at the same for about a week. Living on pain meds. 😂

I had2 incisions and drains and they took over 6 months to heal. Left just kept splitting more skin. I started to clear up more once we swapped the silicone dressings for more breathable ones, they were more prone to leaking, given the breath ability, but think that in the long run led to me actually healing. But very sticky so used an adhesive dissolver spray to remove them more gently. Nurses also used this green gauze with it that apparently draws out infection and prevents infection getting in. But had a drastic improvement with the swap. Hope it helps
