I am currently on Mounjaro. I started back in April of last year. Then I had surgery in June of 2024 under my right arm to remove a track. I also go to Milan hair removal. These three steps have helped with the HS symptoms. I have loss 20 pounds and no more flare ups under my arm pits. Back in January 2025 I had a bunion removed and so I came off the Mounjaro an was off it for about a while. Then I started noticing flare ups in the genital and rear end areas. I have used regular vaseline in these areas and it calms the flare up. I also asked my doctor to put me back on the Mounjaro. I believe the Mounjaro has helped in some ways. Don't quote me on this. It also helps with hot flashes. Those who take Mounjaro has said they experience being cold. I wish the best for all of you.

What experiences have people had with Ozempic, weight loss, and HS flares?

GLP-1 medications like Ozempic are being studied as a potential new frontier in HS treatment. While research is still ongoing, these medications may help address both weight management and inflammation associated with HS. Studies have shown that weight loss can potentially improve HS symptoms, with one study finding that losing at least 15% of body weight helped reduce HS severity. However, it's important to note that results vary - some people report significant improvement in their HS flares with weight loss, while others notice no changes.

Before starting any weight loss medication or making significant changes to your treatment plan, be sure to discuss options with your healthcare provider to determine the best approach for your specific situation.
