Members responded to a question about being prescribed Rifampin and Clindamycin together, sharing their own antibiotic experiences for managing HS. Several members described using medications like doxycycline, spironolactone, metformin, and Nystop with mixed results, noting issues like stomach sensitivity and developing immunity over time. A recurring theme was hope and encouragement, with the original poster sharing a positive update that the combination brought significant relief after more than 20 years of trying other antibiotics.

Hello Cindy 215 On June 2026 my primary doctor first time prescribed cladymicyn 28 pills 300 mgs to take it 4 times a day & it worked for me. No flare ups the last three weeks. I only have hs on my armpits.

Hi! I was prescribed this by the derm who diagnosed me. It ended up being too harsh on my stomach even tho my flares healed completely and I just felt weak all over (I pray that it works for you!). I ended up taking daily spironolactone and metformin when I switched derms.

I have been recently prescribed this, but only in topical form as a compound. I haven't received it yet.

I hate auto-correct, which has entered into a fresh hell with the new obsession with AI. I am hopeful that you will “KEEP us posted in your progress.”

Update: The rx has helped immensely! Almost to no drainage under my arms. I still can't believe it. My groin area has improved. I still struggle with my buttock area a bit. I have to manage how long I sit. Its better than any antibiotic I've taken in over 20 years. Doxycycline seems to cause more access and I became immune to it over time. I hope this helps somebody! Blessings!
