I am on Cosentex. I see good results, however it doesn’t last long. I’m going to try to get it a stronger dose, or, more often.

Cosentyx (secukinumab) is a relatively new treatment option for HS. It was approved by the FDA in 2024 specifically for treating hidradenitis suppurativa, making it one of the newer biologics available.

Since Cosentyx is a newer treatment for HS, there aren't many shared member experiences available yet in the myHSteam community. As more people begin using this medication, you'll likely see more discussions about how well it works, what side effects people experience, and how it compares to other treatments.

Cosentyx is a biologic medication that's administered by injection and works by calming overactive parts of the immune system that contribute to inflammation in HS.

If you're considering Cosentyx or have questions about whether it might be right for you, it's worth having a detailed conversation with your dermatologist. They can discuss how it might fit into your treatment plan based on your specific symptoms and disease severity.

Have you been prescribed Cosentyx, or are you exploring it as a treatment option? Sharing your own experiences could help other members who are considering this newer treatment.

My son has been on it since October and all his flares have gotten worse. He's went from maybe 4 active lesions to 11 in that time frame. They keep saying we need to give it time to work but its been terrible and painful for him. Sadly I have nothing good to report on this injection.
