I find that I'm ill or have a cold every month or two of the year but on paper there's no reason why and I wasn't sure if it's linked to HS. I can get run down during a flare up or even when I don't have one. It feels like my body has this invisible limit and after a couple of weeks functioning normally I get ill and put back to square 1.

The connection between HS and feeling run down frequently may be related to chronic inflammation in the body. This underlying inflammation can affect your overall health and energy levels, making you more susceptible to feeling unwell. It's important to communicate these symptoms to your healthcare team, as they could be related to other health factors that need attention. When you notice patterns between feeling unwell and HS flares, try to reduce stress, wear comfortable clothing, and prioritize skin care. Consider keeping your schedule flexible when you start feeling symptoms to avoid pushing yourself too hard.
