Members shared their preferred soap and cleansing routines for managing hidradenitis suppurativa in sensitive areas, with many recommending gentle, fragrance-free options like Dove Sensitive Skin, Hibiclens antibacterial body wash, and PanOxyl followed by clindamycin cream as prescribed by dermatologists. Several members emphasized the importance of using soft tools like hands or a fresh white washcloth with each shower rather than rough loofahs, and some shared DIY solutions including homemade black soap with tea tree oil or oatmeal-based bars tailored to their needs. A recurring theme was avoiding harsh body washes with added fragrances, being gentle during flare-ups, and finding what works best for your individual skin through careful trial and error.

My dermatologist advised panoxyl and follow up with clindamycin cream. It’s been working for me

Just to add to everyone's comments, we use a clean white washcloth every shower. I never reuse one or use any kind of loofah. Stay away from anything to irritate the area.

Hi I use Hibiclens Body Wash Soap I ordered from Amazon and so far so good and I use a bath sponge 🧽 to apply it.

Dove sensitive skin if I can’t get anything better. Hibiclense or Cln antibacterial body wash if I’m fighting an active boil especially. I also have lume brand acidified body wash and it hasn’t caused me any problems and can help combat odors.
