I took that combo for 10 days. It did nothing for me. No antibiotics have had any positive effect for me. But, I believe the underlying root cause of my HS is hormonal. So, antibiotics wouldn’t work. Spironolactone, however, has been very effective for me.

Yes I completed the course hat multiple flare on them, and 5 days after I finished them boom, massive flare up.
Put onto doxycycline and sprironlactone now although having another big flare up and go has paused the doxy and put me back onto coamoxiclav.
So fed up of pumping my body of medications that just don’t seem to make me any better than being off them. 😤

Yes, and I had about a 50% reduction in drainage, but less so in pain and itch, but as soon as the course was over, it came back with a vengance.

@A myHSteam Member thanks , I’m on day 6 and so far just getting the diarrhoea, I have nothing left in me. 😂 I have a routine dressing change later, so will see if any change from Fridays appointment, I feel like the pain is about the same.
