I take antibiotics as needed as well as prednisone. Not everyone needs the prednisone, but I have lupus on top of HS. 🙄 So that the antibiotics don't destroy the good bacteria in my gut, I take probiotics. It also keeps me from getting a yeast infection from the antibiotics. Hope this helps. 🤗

Baz, bless your heart, but in the United States, tramadol is not that easy to get. We're stuck with ibuprofen. 😣 I had an HS flare about two years ago that I really considered killing myself to stop the pain and still couldn't get any meds! I took some old Vicodin, but it didn't do much. The United States is in a "war against opioid" meds. Too many drug addicted people here. I typically take naproxen.

Antibiotics are the first step with HS. If you have a mild case or only the occasional flare, antibiotics are great. But, if you have continuous flares or a more serious/severe case of HS, you probably will need more long term care than antibiotics can offer. Continued use of antibiotics can do more harm than good. There is actually a form of antibiotic induced lupus. When I am in bad shape, antibiotics give me some relief, but only for a short time. It's once again, pick your poison, and what works for one, may not work for another. This is why you must be your own advocate! 🤗

Very very afraid of most medications that will throw me off I've had so many other aspects of this and more prominent than opinions that I have more than mental of it I just want to deal with it after 15 years of realizing what it was because I really do feel any symptoms of mental illness because I did have ADH
