I ask this because mine are more blood than puss and they don't stink like I've read others have a ton of stinky puss. Is this common?

Amy mine have always been blood and no puss. If you have a dermatologist or doctor just have someone culture one. The pathology will tell you. Mine have always been blood and the pathology when cultured showed no bacteria, only blood and dead skin. Antibiotics have never helped me but having this forty plus years and not knowing what it was I have been prescribed enough. However get yours tested to be sure.

Hi Amy. My boils always just bleed. I never have pus come out of them. I have had a few when ready to pop, on the end of it is white and when it burst, it's like the core of a Black Head that comes out and it bleeds until it finishes. Before they burst, I used to smell a sweaty scent or a bloody smell.

Hi Bob. You are right. My boils used to be all blood and no pus also. My Dermatologist tested it and took me off the Antibiotics.

I also need to say that since I've been on Humira, I have no pain whenever I have a boil (which is seldom) and no smell. The boil come and burst sooo fast. It drains for a day now and heal. 😀

Slap a brewed teabag on it and it will stop immediately and quit hurting. The tea will eventually dry and irritate the skin with constant use but it will get rid of it. Can use Preparation H in between and Benadryl topical lotion to keep shrinking and keep it calmed down. Prep H will soothe the irritated skin from all the other stuff and also shrink the damaged follicle as well.
