I have mild/moderate HS. I antibiotics don’t help since I can only take it for a limited time but I don’t get flairs frequently enough. Recently I’ve been getting more flares, all scarring. Each scar has not been a discoloration scar but rather the sack like scars that are like a deflated balloon. It is hurting my self esteem and affecting me a lot more that it would affect others. I don’t know how to let the scars not control my life …any insight would be wonderful.
Nick, mine are in my groin area too, and now one at the top of one leg. I don't find my scaring is as bad as some on here. I feel lucky I only have it in my groin, a place where it's not really seen by anyone...my husband and Dr. If you get HS in your armpit, it's an area that's harder to hide. Coconut oil helps healing as well as scaring. I'm thinking you must be single if you are worried about the scaring in that area.....Seriously you should hope to find a partner that will not think anything of your scars, whether they are from HS or earlier injuries! You really don't want to be with someone that doesn't love you just the way you are....scars and all!
The older the scarring gets it seems the worse it feels. My advice take care of scarring immediately!!
Scars suck! Im stuck with the mess.
Im 54 and not married. I dont think i could be intimate with anyone again. Very self-conscious and most men dont understand its not contagious.
I get sad, nut it could be worse.
