I was diagnosed with a severe case of HS last week. I’m on oral doxycycline, topical clindamycin, and an acne wash. However I’m not and never have been a smoker or overweight. I’ve actually spent most of my adult years underweight from an eating disorder. I’m doing better now with the ED as I’ve just had a baby in September. I’m wondeting if the HS onset could be caused by hormonal birth control. I have the kyleena IUD
I have been dealing with a HS outbreak since March they keep putting me on doxycycline they have already cut it open once and it keeps doing the same thing over and over again. The only thing that helps me is vanco but when I try to tell them that they want to ignore me the place that’s under my arm has infection coming out of it and it is blistering my skin.
Going to a dermatologist helped me right away. She was immediately aware of the condition and we came up with our first treatment plan. No other doctor helped. They just kept sending me for surgery.
I’ve been using oral antibiotics (erythromycin and now lymecycline) for 9 months now and it just isn’t helping. They’re less likely to get infected now, but the flares still arise and in new places. What medication would people recommend? And how would I persuade my doctor that what I’m on now just isn’t working?
Awesome, let me know how it works out for you.
I just got diagnosed but have suspected I have hs for a while. My problem area is my groin. I've picked at any bumps that occur which means I have some open wounds. I don't have the Typical puss, but just lots of red angry skin that's open. Lots of blood/fluid initially came out but is stable now. I'm on oral minocycline and clindamycin ointment. This one area just won't freaking heal, and it's right on the underwear line. Any tips?
Dr. Kimball mentioned Hormonal Treatment for HS instead of Antibiotics. Would Hormonal Treatments be recommended for older ladies or for men?
Ive had several pic-lines and 2 broviac lines. I liked the broviac one better because they last longer and were anchored to my torso rather than my arm. Being able to do treatment at home is a… read more
Hey guys. Does anyone suffer from HS on their face. I have HS on other parts of my body however I’ve been experiencing huge cysts on my face that are very painful. Has anyone had a similar experience ? Been getting different responses so I just wanted to know how everyone’s else it dealing with it.
Since being diagnosed with HS I have become prone to cysts in different areas that have required surgery to remove. Has anyone else had anything like this happen and what have you found helps?
I have been trying to deal with this "problem" for quite a wile, some days are more painful than others. i was a little apprehensive about sharing anything but i am at my wits end. i went to the doctor some months ago, and was told to, "keep doing what I'm doing" which was letting hot water run on it in the shower. i had to go back to the doctor to have it dealt with a few times because it was too painful. my question is, is there some kind of cream, or soap, anything that might helped?
