I have had Shingles twice now...Last time it arrived on Christmas Day. The Nurse tells me I'm not eligible for the jab for another 5 years... Has anyone else come up against this
Thank you Wendy for the comment....
I will speak to the nurse again
For me it was worse the second time and really don't want to go through it again 🤒
I have been prescribed this medicine for stage 1. I only have 2 reocurrent boils. The dermatologist didnt ask me about my birth control but I am worried it will affect it as it says it regulates hormona inbalances?
I have an IUD and I’m thinking of getting it taken out to see if it helps because I know they are researching the connection between certain rises in different hormones that may trigger a flare. Mine… read more
I was diagnosed with a severe case of HS last week. I’m on oral doxycycline, topical clindamycin, and an acne wash. However I’m not and never have been a smoker or overweight. I’ve actually spent most of my adult years underweight from an eating disorder. I’m doing better now with the ED as I’ve just had a baby in September. I’m wondeting if the HS onset could be caused by hormonal birth control. I have the kyleena IUD
They like to say obesity is a factor, but they can't say why. Which means it's really not.
I think my HS is hormona at least in part (I reallf flare before my period, which is normally every 3 weeks ::cry::). My doctor put me on spironolactone, but it’s messing up my periods so that I am bleeding every other week, and my period is insanely heavy! So, the doc wants to put me on Yaz too, but the internet says it’s not a good idea after 35
Im wondering if anyone here had similar conversations with their doctors about Yaz? Or did you decide on a different birth control pill (if so,… read more
I’ve been thinking about Humira. Do you notice any side effects from it?
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone had any information or personal experiences with taking birth control with HS.
I was specifically wondering if it makes the flare ups worse, helps with maintenance, flares up when terminating the use of birth control and the general feeling of taking it.
Thank you,
L
I've been on hormonal birth control since before I developed HS. I don't think it's made much of a difference either way.
I have successfully been on Humira for years, and I am concerned about long term effects. I am interested in birth control or hormone therapy. How well does it control HS?
Birth control hasn't seemed to have made a huge difference for me, although I'm still on it for PCOS anyway. I know some people have a lot of success with birth control and/or spironolactone… read more
I am currently trying a mix of antibiotics and spironlactone to see if I am hormone triggered, I always find I seem to flare around ovulation time.
I have been doing research on a more permanent solution for my HS and found articles saying that the flare-ups stop after you go through menopause. I am going to ask my doctor about getting a hysterectomy for this reason as I am almost 40 and do not want children. I am wondering if anyone else has had success with this? I tried hormonal birth control and it has been a nightmare. Almost a constant period and repeat flare-ups that I did not have before trying the birth control.
HS worsened for me as I started menopause and now that I am post menopause, it is even more horrible!
