I’m not sure how to alternate both of them considering the area is very sensitive. I don’t wanna dry it out and it get irritated.

Great question, and it's smart to think carefully about this — the groin is one of the more sensitive and tricky areas to manage with HS.

Both PanOxyl (benzoyl peroxide) and Hibiclens (chlorhexidine) are antiseptic cleansers that can help reduce bacteria and potentially lower flare frequency. However, because both can be drying, using them together every day — especially in a sensitive area like the groin — can irritate the skin and make things worse.

A general approach many people find helpful:

- Start slow — try one product just once or twice a week to see how your skin reacts
- Alternate them rather than using both on the same day
- Build up gradually — if your skin tolerates one well, you can slowly increase frequency
- Moisturize after cleansing to help prevent excessive dryness Since the groin is a high-friction, high-sweat area, keeping it clean and dry is important — but being too aggressive with drying cleansers can actually trigger more irritation.

The best move here is to check with your dermatologist about the right frequency and combination for your skin. They can give you a personalized plan that balances bacteria control without overdrying such a sensitive area.
