Filing a disability appeal with stage 3 HS is absolutely something people have done, and you're not alone in navigating this. The pain and challenges that come with stage 3 HS are real, and that works in your favor when building a strong case.

Here's some guidance for filing with or without help:

- With a lawyer: Many myHSteam members strongly recommend hiring a disability attorney. They know the system, can represent you at hearings, and many work on contingency (no upfront cost)
- Without a lawyer: You can file on your own, but make sure your doctor is thoroughly documenting your symptoms, pain levels, and how HS impacts your daily life
- Key tip: Make sure your doctor notes your pain levels even while on medication, as that's critical evidence
- Also document: Any related impacts like depression or mobility issues, as these strengthen your case Since your deadline is in July, acting quickly is important. The first appeal step is called "reconsideration," where someone new reviews your case.

Don't get discouraged if it takes time β€” many people are eventually approved after multiple steps. You've got this! πŸ’ͺ

Hi there, I feel for you I'm so glad you asked. I'm dealing with Stage 3 as well. I just recently filed before my july deadline by myself. So I had a mixture of having help from doctors, and then using past doctors documentation that accurately documented the mobility friction, and referrals along with pics of the stage HS.

If you have one to make sure either or both wound clinic and derm documents accurately, based on tasks how long you can sit stand walk bend kneel, etc... And then how this affects concentration, sleep, how long you can work each day and hrs and then of course rest days, if you work for a certain work program and if you can have a love one write how HS has impacted your daily life. If medicines have or haven't worked and if you're actively seeking management strategies.

You would type in google
ssa disability appeal, and of course look for request a hearing you can complete it in one sitting or each day. If you have to come back make sure you have your re-entry number take a pic write it down and email it so you don't lose it or you'll have to restart over, if you're not for sure about a question research it. I get it its stressful! Answer questions honestly the best you can. And if you can look for a rep that will not ask for upfront cost, and who will tremendously help you can look online and see who's closest in your area. And please look at the reviews on what people are saying.

Thank you again for that question. And I hope you meet the deadline, don't wait if you cant get rep right away, file asap before your deadline, so you don't miss it. And another note whenever the letter was mailed you have 60 days from that date.

I hope this helps, you'll do great. β˜ΊοΈπŸ™πŸ‘
