* Make sure the wound is fully dry before applying any dressings
Using Absorbent Dressings:
* Cover clean, dry wounds with sterile, absorbent dressings like foam or gauze
* Change dressings frequently when they become wet or dirty
* Consider extra-absorbent options like menstrual pads or nursing pads, which are affordable and effective
* Apply pressure with bandages when possible to help drainage continue coming out
Additional Drying Techniques:
* Air-dry wounds whenever you can between dressing changes
* Use antimicrobial dressings containing silver, honey, or copper to help control bacteria and promote faster healing

Gary,
I don't know how to dry it out. I keep mine clean and cover it with sterile gauze patches. You can but them at the drug store. This works for me but it does take several days to a week. I also have triple antiseptic which I put on daily. It does need a prescription so ask your doctor for it.
