HS flares can be complex and develop differently over time. While boils typically drain and heal with scarring, they can also lead to sinus tracts (tunnels) under the skin. The long-lasting nature of your current flare and the development of tunnels is consistent with how HS can progress, though each person's experience varies. Since you're having difficulty finding a knowledgeable doctor, it's important to seek out a dermatologist specifically, as they are trained to differentiate between various types of lesions and can provide appropriate treatment options. The location under your chin, while less common than areas like the armpits or groin, can still be affected by HS. A dermatologist can help determine the best course of treatment for your specific case and help prevent further complications.
