Members shared diverse strategies for managing hidradenitis suppurativa symptoms, with many finding relief through specialized cleansers like CLn body wash, DynaHex, Hibiscrub, and dandruff shampoo, while avoiding scented products that can irritate the skin. Several members described medical interventions that have helped them, including Kenalog steroid injections for symptom relief, deroofing surgery, antibiotics like doxycycline and cephalexin for breakouts, and biologics such as Humira and Skyrizi, though some experienced side effects requiring discontinuation. A recurring theme was the importance of moisture management and gentle care routines, with members recommending wicking sheets for skin folds, Vaseline or manuka honey for wound care, air-drying with a hairdryer, fresh sheets for comfort during flares, hot bleach baths to drain boils, and supplements like zinc and turmeric to support overall health.

🤔 this stuff isn’t to bad 👇👇 it’s actually new out there on the market it’s obviously 🙄 scent free those scented products are no good for HS it can actually irritate your skin with them nasty 🤮 chemicals 🤔 you might smell 👃 nice but it isn’t good
This is colour less and it is actually used for pre-op surgery and highly recommended by dermatologists and medical professionals all over the world 🌍 it replaces the original hibiscrub as we know it to this day 👇 makes my skin feel lovely and soft

Ashley, Hi. I just received a Kenalog shot yesterday. You supposed to only be allowed 4 a year and steroids do thin my skin, but oh what a relief of symptoms and some energy LoL I only wash with CLn body wash or Aloe Vera, sometimes soak in Mr. Teals but need to change that to straight Epsom salts. Wash with hands and water streams, no scrubbing. Clindamycin cream is hard to bandage in the groin area, so I use My Magic Healers bee propolis solution and manuka honey lotion. I take Supplements, Vit D, Vit E, B3, Magnesium potassium calcium, zinc and some Tumeric. I I use doxycycline on a minor breakout and cephalexin on a major one. I visit the dermatologist about 4 times a year. I tried Humira for about a year but then had Palmoplantar pustilus psoriasis start and sick, so I stopped that. I took Skyrizi for the two initial doses and one maintenance dose and had to stop for surgery on my breasts, a surgery last year and one in January this year in Houston. So haven't taken Skyrizi since I guess February 2024. I am still here at 60 years old May 29th. I try to eat proteins and veggies. Not a big fruit fan unfortunately. The disease causes psychological stress so I have major depressive order and take Zoloft and anxiety medicine. Be patient with yourself, ❤️. Pray 🙏 for a cure. I believe early diagnosis is key. I found out when I was 28 from a regular M.D. and didn't suffer the torture of misdiagnosis for years like many do. That's about it. Have a great one Ashley. 💐💐
