When choosing a deodorant suitable for hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), it's important to select products that are gentle and less likely to cause irritation. Here are some recommendations based on feedback from individuals with HS:

1. **Aluminum-Free Deodorants**: Aluminum, commonly found in antiperspirants, can irritate the skin. Brands like Arm & Hammer offer aluminum-free options that might be less irritating.

2. **Natural Ingredients**: Some people with HS find relief using deodorants with natural ingredients. However, be cautious as ingredients like baking soda and essential oils can also be irritants. A member mentioned using a deodorant with coconut oil and charcoal, which was gentle on their skin.

3. **Fragrance-Free Options**: Fragrances in deodorants can trigger flare-ups. Opting for fragrance-free or unscented deodorants can help reduce the risk of irritation.

4. **Specific Product Recommendations**: Brands like Native Deodorant, Kiss My Face, and Pretty Frank are known for their natural, aluminum-free options that might be more suitable for sensitive skin associated with HS.

Always consult with your dermatologist before trying a new product to ensure it's appropriate for your specific skin needs.
