For the CO2 surgery it’s not covered due to the insurance companies unable to medically code it properly for HS.

However, there are general surgeons that do surgery for HS and most insurances cover it based on how the doctor describes what they are doing.

For example I had surgery for my sacral area in 2015 I/D with cauterization by a general surgeon for my HS and insurance I had covered 80%

Most effective surgery for me has be the CO2 and it’s not covered again due to medical coding using CO2 laser.

I feel like you should reach out to your insurance and see what hospital, doctors, surgeons are in network because that maybe an issue as well

Yes the CO2 surgery isn’t. They haven’t resolved on how to medically code it.
