I have lupus and some other chronic illnesses. I recently did my lupus bloodwork and my kidney values were good but I am anemic right now. I saw that anemia also causes poor wound healing and other skin issues because of the lack of iron. I wonder if this hs flare has triggered a mild lupus flare or maybe vice versa. There seems to be a shortage of dermatologists, but I have a really great rheumatologist. Should I bring up this hs flare to her? If you guys have other conditions/doctors besides… read more

Hi Inna. I have Sarcoidosis which is an Autoimmune and Inflammatory condition. When I get a flare, I heal very fast. Since I had HS, I had about 2 flares that were deep and kind of wide. They drained and healed up in about a week and a half without being infected.

Hi there! I do get anemic due to the HS. So from time to time I do get iron infusions. The following link is a list of dermatologists

I do virtual with Dr Resnik in Florida since I live in SC. I also have a dermatologist in SC who knows HS and treats pt with it, but it’s different when it’s a dermatologist focus on the research aspect of it.
