Has anyone had luck using birth control to control breakouts?

I have an IUD and I’m thinking of getting it taken out to see if it helps because I know they are researching the connection between certain rises in different hormones that may trigger a flare. Mine always comes around my period every month. It sucks. I think mine is definitely hormonal
