I've been on it for four months now and I love it. I have way less flares and the ones I do have are smaller and go away faster, and don't develop into the spreading sinus tracts. The only side effect I might have from the Humira is being a little more sensitive to heat, but I just bring a water bottle if I know I'll be outside and everything is fine. Otherwise, no problem! Injecting was a little bit of a psychological challenge for me at first but now it's becoming less and less of a big deal every time I do it.
Didn’t help me.
Hello Alex, Humira works. I have had only one flair up since I started almost two years ago. That flair up was pretty bad. I had sores in places I had never had them before. My Humira nurse told me not to miss a dose because it could stop working. Unfortunately my pharmacy screwed up and I missed one week. But I started back on antibiotics and Humira and they have stopped again.
Good luck
Yes Alex, Humira to me is the Miracle Drug. I haven't had a flare in so long. I feared taking the injection until I did the first one. My Nurse assisted me and I was appalled when I felt absolutely Nothing. Every injection since then had been painless.😀
Hi MissErins. I have been on Humira about 9 or 10 months immediately after going from Stage 1 to Stage 2 HS. At first after starting Humira, I would still flare like once a month with little swelling and very little to no pain. I have not had a flare now in about 4 or 5 months now. When my Dermatologist examined me a few months ago, she was happily jumping around saying, "No Scars!" This medicine for me is the next thing to a cure. I wish it was like this for everyone. 😀. On Humira, I eat and drink whatever I want (except alcohol and Sodas). I eat Potatoes, Pizza, Ice Cream, Salad with all vegetables in it. My Nurse told me that HS comes from within, not from food. For the last 9-10 months I have been eating whatever my heart desires.
