Cand, Well first of all I go to a psych who talks and prescribes depression and anxiety medicine. There was a good book called *The present" you might get. It is really about trying to live in the moment. Another one I like is called "The Shack" which is an interesting take on religion. So I read, work in the yard, listen to music, cook, and sleep too much sometimes especially if having flares.
I do all of thoes things as well as taking deep breathes, there are some breathing techniques that i do with my small children at work that i find myself doing when i'm at home feeling stressed. I usually find myself doing a balloon breathe it's where you put your hands on your head and breathe in and extend your hands up and when you feel ready just clap and breathe out.
