If you two metformin you still have to eat low carb and low fat because if your pre diabetic or diabetic the sugar will eventually rise even in the medicine.
Metformin is not a magic cure for HS. The only thing Metforamin does is lower your blood sugar. High blood sugar can cause HS breakouts in some people because it raises the androgen hormones that affect HS inflammation response. Get a cheap blood glucose meter. I have the Relion from Walmart. Stay within blood glucose normal range in the meter instructions. Test two hours after eating to see how you respond to foods and when you first wake up in the morning, Cut out saturated fat, go low carb low fat. Try not to eat more than 12 grams starch carbs at a meal. 12 carbs is 1 slice of bread or 1/3 cup mashed potatoes, peas or beans. If use oil, use olive oil in small amounts. Cut out dairy for a while to see if dairy is a trigger. It is for a lot of us. Most of us prefer a Mediterranean diet, almost no or little red meat, lean chicken, lean fish, mostly vegetables, olive oil, small amounts of nuts, seeds, healthy grains, low glycemic fruits or limited sugary fruits.
I am on metformin as you can see from my meditation above 👆 and I have been on it for years now so as far as does it help hs well I can’t really say much to that but I had a very serious lump and it didn’t help me but apparently it’s works better for the females for some reason or another but I have a blood disorder and I had a blood clot I have a condition called Polysithema which is a problem with the red and white blood cells one produces to many 👍
Ok! Have you noticed improvement for hs? That is what they are adding to my treatment plan. Or not since it’s not for hs for you?
