I just read on here that having HS increases the chance of getting scwemous cell carcinoma & Chrones.
A hot bath may help open some flares and let them drain the same way using a hot compress against them would. A cooler bath might feel more soothing or decrease some inflammation. Usually I prefer a… read more

I had surgery under my breast and my left arm and I haven't had no flare since then. Maybe you can talk to your Dermatologist about surgery. If not you also ask your Dermatologist about Kenalog… read more
My mother use to call these fat bumps, boy was she wrong. After having back surgery, I discovered that my pancreas was nicked and I became a type 1 diabetic. There are times when my blood sugar drops and I will be sweating, I have woken up numerous times overheated and sweaty. How do I get help with this? Any suggestions? I was in the hospital in DKA and saw a commercial for HS and realized that that was what I had been dealing with. When I brought it up to my doctor, he basically said ok… read more

Im trying to figure out "what" is causing my mast cells to be triggered & keeping this inflammatory nightmare going. I dont smoke, not obese but i DO have chronic pancreatitis. I read that insulin resistancy can play into HS. Ive also had a problem with candida which keeps mast cells inflaming everything. So im curious 'if' my long time gimpy pancreas has caused a blood sugar problem thats causing candida and HS?
Thanks. I think the blood sugar is causing the candida. Which in turn keeps my mast cells triggered and causing constant inflammation. I want sure if anybody on here has candida issues as well?
I was recently diagnosed last year but realize I have had flare ups for a few years. We just always thought they were ingrown hairs in my groin/pantyline. Currently in the midst of one and I’m miserable. I’m lucky b/c mine aren’t that bad, but I’m terrified of what they could become.

How do you handle the dating life with this skin condition? Do you say up front about the condition?
Thank you so much
I'm on trulicity and it says I can get infections that can cause hospitalization if not treated. I'm overly concerned that a lesion that has broken will cause health issues. Any one else feeling this way and what should I do?
It's understandable to be concerned about skin infections, especially when managing both type 2 diabetes and HS. Here are a few points to consider:

It's very hard. I just tell and send that person a pic and let a person know it's not contagious.
