Has Anyone Here Had Their Vitamin D3 Levels Tested?
A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭

I had my first instance in my underarms in 2016 and had surgery to remove. I had my Vitamin D levels tested then and they were in the "severe deficiency" range. I've been taking supplements ever since to get my levels up but haven't been so consistent lately with it. My next flare up happened a few months ago during the Covid lock down (under a lot of work stress) kind of in the groin area but seemed to clear up quite quickly once I started taking my Vitamin D3 everyday again. I didn't know that was a thing. Thanks I'll be sure to ask my Dr. The only relief from lumps being rubbed sore I can give myself is using over the counter dressings or large plasters. I've lived with hs for 24 yrs & plasters are my best friend in a flare up

Sorry to hear about your husband @A myHSteam Member. I believe I'm the only one in my family who has this condition. May I ask what dosage of Vitamin D3 he takes a day? I'm taking between 5000iu and 10000iu D3 per day with 100 - 200ug K2

I was prescribed D3 for my energy levels because I was sufficient as well. Alongside clindamycin it really helped!

My husband has been on vitamin D3 every day for years along with long term antibiotics every day. Nothing seems to stop flare ups for him. He has always got several abscesses at any given time. Anyone else have family with the condition also? My husbands brother, sister and mother all have hs too!!

I did have a vitamin efficiency and they put me on folic acid and multivitamins
But I can’t remember what it was for but you can get these free by the doctor in the uk
But I am diabetic so I don’t have to pay
