Dressings To Promote Healing
A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭

Hi all,
I just got diagnosed but have suspected I have hs for a while. My problem area is my groin. I've picked at any bumps that occur which means I have some open wounds. I don't have the Typical puss, but just lots of red angry skin that's open. Lots of blood/fluid initially came out but is stable now. I'm on oral minocycline and clindamycin ointment. This one area just won't freaking heal, and it's right on the underwear line. Any tips?

Talk to your doctor about humira. At the risk of sounding like a commercial lol. Best thing I ever did.

I use duoderm and a tegaderm to bandage that area. I also put a silver powder on the wound to help healing before dressing it. This helps heal as well as kill any bacteria. Hope this helps.

Yes minus the underwear. Or a really soft seamless boy short panty

Hi Roxy, on the underwear line its difficult to place a bandage but I fold a soft papertowel length of wounded area and put wound tape to hold in place, be careful to avoid hair, uncomfortable at first but there is relief , I have learned there has to be a "layer" between the wound and clothes, hope this helps...❤
