Hi everyone! I was diagnosed recently after giving birth to my first born but I’ve been having them since my teen years. I’m Dominican and in DR it says it’s a common thing. But I’m glad it actually has a name and I’m not alone in this.

I still wear jeans but I wear boy short underwear underneath. If im having a really bad flareup thats draining then I'll do bandages on the lesions that are draining!

Sweat suits in the winter and leggings in the summer. That's what I have to do.

Welcome, and congratulations on your little one! 🎉 It's wonderful that you finally have a name for what you've been experiencing — and you are absolutely not alone in this journey.

Giving up curve-hugging jeans during flares is genuinely frustrating, but there are some stylish workarounds that others have found helpful! Here are some clothing tips from dermatologists and myHSteam members:

- Boxer shorts or boy shorts under outfits can reduce friction in the groin and thigh area — many women swear by men's 100% cotton boxers in a size up for extra comfort
- Dresses and skirts are a popular go-to — they look great and keep pressure off lesions
- Darker colors and fun prints can help disguise any drainage stains while still looking cute
- HidraWear is a brand made specifically for HS, offering briefs with built-in pockets for dressings — most insurances cover it, so worth checking!

A myHSteam member shared: *"I never layer my clothes anymore, and when I am in clothes, it's basketball shorts or a dress."*

The key is experimenting to find what works best for your body and style. You can absolutely still look and feel amazing! 💪
