I'm on new meds and flare ups are much less frequent but when I do get them they are really hitting me hard mentally and physically.

That is such a good question! Well, I agree with Kelly. However, sometimes you need to give yourself permission to let some frustration out too. Try not to ruin anyone else’s day while doing it and don’t stay in it for too long. Then, take care of your hygiene. After that distract yourself with a new task or hobby or errand.

A good hobby is great for my Depression! I recently started coloring and I just LOVE it. Melts the worries away and time just flies by when Im doing it which, is good for me. Extra or empty time wrecks havoc on my OCD & anxiety.

Hi Jmac, Im glad the flares are much less for u but, I too have a hard time mentally when dealing with the flare ups and even when they are open. Honestly, I feel traumatized by the whole situation. I cannot deal with the pain and the looks of the flares. the constant worry afterwards of when it will come again worries me. What I am trying to do know is, know that Im not alone in this and be grateful to God that it passes and that as bad as it gets, it could always be worse. My advice to u, is to be grateful for the down time and know that when it gets bad, u have what it takes to push thru. Hope that helps a little. Take care!
