My new PCP has recently put me on Metformin as a trial to treat HS? Has anyone tried this successfully?

It gave me loose stools after about 12 hours and that was only taking half a pill (250 mg) and it restarted my menstrual cycle and made my cramps worse. I wonder if there is a lower dose my dr can prescribe. I am going to reach out to her and see.
