That’s specific to each individual. I was in the hospital for 2 months after my procedure healing. My outbreak was so near my anus I had to stay after surgery to get my dressing changed 3 times a day as to avoid infection. So your question has many answers. Also I’m a veteran so my stay was practically free. About the the only good thing this country does for veterans.

I recently had extensive surgery for my HS primarily on the groin area (some buttocks); I was a worse case with 7 procedures in 2 weeks (5 debridment and 2 skin graft). Was in the hospital for about 3 1/2 weeks, then recovering after (at home) for another 3-6 weeks. It seems like alot, but honestly it's well worth it in terms of quality of life back and getting rid of all the discomfort. Feel free to ask anymore questions... My insurance luckily covered all my expenses but that bill was like $381k
