How Do You Guys Deal With The Pain Of Cleaning Open Wounds?
I have a lot of broken skin, open wounds, and decently sized holes. I’ve developed a bit of anxiety around having to clean them every day, long term. Does any one have any advice on how to combat that anxiety and be more efficient?
I had the same anxiety so what I would do is when it was fresh I’d keep the area covered in the shower due to it burning when soap would hit it then after my shower I’d get a fresh cloth with mild antibacterial soap like dial or
Cln line. Wash it separately and then pat dry. I would then use a petroleum impregnated gauze (since my wound specialist explained opened wounds heal best in a moist environment) cover with a flex bandage I get mine from curad brand. After about a week or so considering some heal slower than others. I would start using a saline solution wound wash. And repeat the same process the last one I had took about a month or so
to heal.
Wash with Epson salts wash liquid also my magic healer helps so much!!! Check out there Instagram page!!
I am sure you get used to the pain as being a normal feeling. I have always used the showed head on gentle as well and I have fuzzy facecloths. I just use Dove bar soap on a facecloth, and I scrub vigorously, then rinse.
