I was diagnosed with a severe case of HS last week. I’m on oral doxycycline, topical clindamycin, and an acne wash. However I’m not and never have been a smoker or overweight. I’ve actually spent most of my adult years underweight from an eating disorder. I’m doing better now with the ED as I’ve just had a baby in September. I’m wondeting if the HS onset could be caused by hormonal birth control. I have the kyleena IUD

I'm not currently pregnant (hopefully), i'm just curious. I know stress, depression and many other things can effect HS.

I haven’t become a mother yet and am wondering if this will help my HS, keep it the same or if to expect more flares!

Some people believe that HS is contagious skin disease or think it's some form of STD , so what information would you like to give to people about HS and about living with HS?

My HS history is really long. I’m in the 3rd stage as well. I gave birth 6 months ago and at the time of pregnancy there were no bumps or leakage. After giving birth it started coming back and much worsened. I’m currently residing in the UK and I have never shown my HS to a doctor. I really want to but doesn’t know the procedure. (Please if there is any one from UK do tell me) Also can someone please tell me what kind of cleanser/body wash/ or soap to use.

Does anyone else bleed out from their open lesions when they try getting up out of bed? I'm stage 3, chronic severe. I'm on a strict diet. No dairy, no red meats, no bread, no sugar or refined sugar. Im still having inflammation and can't pin point from what it's being caused.
