I suspected I might have had PCOS and noticed that my HS flareups got worse before my monthly cycle. I went to my OB-GYN this past February to rule out PCOS and had an ultrasound completed. It turned out that I didn't have PCOS and my hormonal tests came back normal, but she told me I had two fibroids. They are not large enough to require surgery but still cause problematic symptoms during my period. I experience a lot of fatigue and pain along with my HS flareups during that time.

Look up Berberine for PCOS.
Maureen my flareups definitely are much worse around my period. That's why I thought I might have had PCOS but it turns out I have two uterine fibroids.
Thanks for replying and sharing your experience. I definitely feel your pain. I tend to crave more sweets the week prior and like you it's usually hard to eat the week of as well. Hang in there and hopefully we can figure out what's going on. I'm trying to switch to more of a keto diet to see if it will help. Let me know if you find anything that works as well.
I’m the same way! I am not sure if it’s pcos or hs or both?! But I feel like crap on my period & have flare ups right before. I also eat like crazy with high carb cravings… then eat nothing when I am on it…
