Okay so how does HS work. Does it progressively get into worse stages or can it be prevented or is it stationary in one stage
Hi all, I am new here and wanted to get opinions from people taking Doxycycline Hyclate 100mg daily for long term control of your HS. I am concerned about the long term use of it on my gut and all that it does & destroys within the stomach and elsewhere in the body. I was taking it daily for 6 months and it kept my flares to maybe 1 or 2 during that time. I stopped taking it about 4 or 5 months ago and all was good with HS flares. Now in the last 3 weeks or so I have had 2 flares so far.

I am having the most painful flair I've ever had. I've been in tears in pain. No matter what I can't get comfortable or get relief.
Pain causes nausea, might be worth seeing your doctor and asking for stronger pain relief rather than over the counter medications. They may also be able to give you an anti-sickness tablet that will… read more

I think mine started around 21 (35now) maybe got one flare in the armpit once a year, and was told abscesses and given antibiotics. It was manageable then

My question for you is ? What is the worst part of your HS . I know the answer is all of it but what is the one. The pain, scars,mental stress, or the smell? I've noticed if I keep my hair down there trimmed up the pain and the smell aren't so bad..
So my daughter is 12. She had two burst abscess; one healing nicely and the other is slower at healing but it's looking as though it's healing. She has a few red/purple ones which do not bother her as such and a large 10p sized one that's tender but the one that burst, there is now a big lump just a few centimetres below it.
