Hi Starla! First of all, is your Doctor knowledgeable in HS? If so, you should tell her exactly how you feel and show her everywhere you have/had flares. If your doctor is not knowledgeable with HS, find a Dermatologist that is. HS is a progressive disease and it seems like you are at the stage to get disability due to your pain and inability to move. You should put in an application over the phone. If they deny you, Appeal ! I hope this helps you Sweetheart. Take care and be blessed.

Do your best to show the doc your thighs so they know exactly what you're dealing with. You can ask about a referral to a dermatologist who knows about HS if you think this doctor doesn't know enough. As for medications to try, there is hormonal birth control, there's spironolactone, there's trying a bunch of different antibiotics (either daily as a pill or as a lotion you put on a flare), there's Humira. Lots of options. So ask for help finding a medication that will reduce the number of flares you get, and then ask what to use when you get a flare.
HS can definitely be considered disabling if it prevents you from being able to work. I have never applied for disability so don't know much about the process, but I do know it's very common to be denied the first time, so if you go for it and get denied, appeal.
