Apocrine Sweat Glands
A myHSteam Member asked a question 💭

Hello, I was wondering if anybody has asked their dermatologist or any dermatologist if HS is caused by apocrine sweat glands would removal of those help or eliminate symptoms? Are apocrine sweat glands necessary for survival or can they be generally safely removed? Is there any research with apocrine sweat gland removal and HS? If removal can be helpful what are the side effects and what adjustments can be made to minimize them?

👋 there I had my sweat glands removed from my armpit here in the uk 🇬🇧 and I was pain free straight away and here is the photo of me in hospital just hours after they removed it and it didn’t hurt or anything or I was in so much pain I couldn’t feel it and I have never had any problems since
