Hi. I do not live in South Africa. I live in a small town Called Orleans Michigan. US. I'm glad more is being brought forth about this disease. It's a very tough thing to live with because you have to be very digellent about the possible triggers. I don't get the symptoms near as bad as I used to. Maybe it changes with age. As soon as I found information about this, I looked up a dermatologist and made an appointment right away for confirmation and treatment. Important! I was diagnosed two years ago now. I spent 20 plus years with this problem and docs just kept saying it was boils and I just had bacteria on my skin and to wash with a special soap. BS! I had looked for so long online, hoping to find something! Then, I finally saw it online two years ago! I couldn't believe it! Only 1% of the population has this disease! I really hope your partner gets some relief! It's a very lonely thing and it goes way beyond just skin! Be blessed!

We haven't tried that because we didn't know what it was until I saw a program on TV about this condition and then started googling everything.

Do you live in South Africa? Do know of any good dermatologists in the west rand area?

I'm still trying to find a do for that can give us a difinitive diagnosis in Durban. My daughter has been battling for years.
